Sorry, Thanks accepted into SXSW 2009

It’s now official: “Sorry, Thanks” has been accepted and will have its premiere screening at the 2009 SXSW Film Festival March 13-22 in Austin, Texas. It will screen in the “Emerging Visions” category. This is the first feature length movie I’ve exec produced and it marks the debut of filmmaker Dia Sokol. Exact showtimes/venues for SXSW screenings will be announced in late February. I’ll keep you posted on other up coming festival screenings.

In related news, “Sorry, Thanks” co-star Andrew Bujalski will premiere his new feature, Beeswax, at the Berlin International Film Festival (it will also screen at the SXSW Film Festival). This is director Andrew Bujalski’s third feature film (and which was produced by Dia Sokol). Here is a great interview with Andrew Bujalski in Austin American Statesman. Berlin is one of the most prestigious film fests in the world and its great the world film community is finally taking notice of Andrew’s exceptional film work.

Andrew was kind enough to use me as an extra one day in Beeswax – you may see me way off in the background in the coffee shop scene. I’m greatly looking forward to seeing this movie, too!

We are very grateful to be accepted into SXSW (is one of the reasons I moved to Austin) and look forward to having a great experience. Wanna read more on “Sorry, Thanks” at SXSW? Greencine is has some info here. IFC.com has news.
